Thanks for your interest in the work of Victims of Crime NT (VoCNT). This page is designed to guide the media in relation to our work and availability to engage.

VoCNT, in any media matters, has a preference to engage with mainstream media.

VoCNT is a community NFP organisation. We partner with government to deliver vital crisis support services and as such have limited resources.

VoCNT is focused on responding to the needs of Territorians who have been affected by crime. We offer:

  • Information and referral
  • Crisis support, counselling and advocacy
  • Assistance to prepare victim impact statements, CVSU financial assistance applications, or to attend court
  • Financial assistance in re-securing residential and business properties, and vehicles ** following unlawful entry or criminal damage
  • Security Improvement program for residential properties – free home security assessments and access to security improvement funding for high risk/vulnerable people
  • Courthouse Support Program at Darwin local Court
  • Business security audits
  • Victim support for participation in Youth Justice Conferencing
  • Remote community projects focused on building safety
  • Personal Safety workshops and other crime prevention information/activities

**Eligibility  applies

VoCNT limits our involvement or comment in relation to political issues, instead directing our energy and resources to supporting the recovery and healing of individuals and communities impacted by crime throughout the NT.

VoCNT can’t always be available to respond to media requests due to limited resources and a focus on supporting victims at their time of crisis. We do try our best to respond. Please submit your enquiry to ceo@victimsofcrime.org.au
