Victim Support

We provide information, crisis counselling and referrals for other support services to any crime victim, past or present.  Our qualified staff are available to talk to a person affected by crime either face to face or over the telephone. We can also assist  in the preparation of documentation such as Victim Impact Statements and applications for financial assistance under the Crime Victims Assistance Act.   When necessary we will also advocate on behalf of a crime victim to other agencies such as police, government and non-government agencies.

Out of our office hours (8.30am – 4.30pm Monday through Friday) the phone is diverted to our volunteer workers who offer support and information to victims of crime. This line is to be contacted in the event of a break-in in order for contractors to be contacted to resecure or clean up a property.

The phone line is a free call number Territory wide.

 Care and Support

For those victims feeling traumatised or overwhelmed by the justice process we can provide information about what is happening and, if necessary, will even provide a support person to accompany them to court.
